SUMMARY: Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit - more sparkly, more fun, more wild - the better. But even though Lola's style is outrageous, she's a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket - a gifted inventor - steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
MY THOUGHTS: WOW I am in love with all the books Stephanie Perkins wrote because Lola and the boy next door was amazingly great. All the characters were interesting to read and especially when there is Anna and St. Claire in this book as well. Starting off with Lola which my thoughts of her was that i could totally get where she is coming from because in the book she is trying to find herself and i can picture alot of us teens in the world trying to figure out who you are as an individual. Shes was a great character read even though some of the choices she made in the book i felt torn. Also i love reading about the costumes she puts together it was fantastic reading about those aspects as well. Now moving on to the boys, Max and Cricket. Ok Max is the much older boyfriend and when i was reading about their relationship it was like ok, but i kept thinking to myself omg Lola you can do so much better than him. AND THEN THERE IS CRICKET...gosh i just loved reading about him because i was swooned once he came into the book..just read it and you'll see...
Overall: hmm overall I greatly appreciated reading this book and it met my expectation of being a awesome read. This book and Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is at a tie because i loved both books very much. And i cant wait for the thrid complementary novel by Stephanie
COVER: Amazing cover because the outfit and wig totally describes Lola and Cricket is so swoon worthy jus looking at him on it.
